VDOT

A continuous score standing in for Daniels' published table — shown as the range between the whole VDOT point above and below your exact value.

Equivalent times

Uses Jack Daniels' VDOT system (Daniels & Gilbert): an oxygen-cost equation for running velocity and a percent-of-VO2max equation for race duration combine into a single "pseudo-VO2max" score that accounts for both aerobic capacity and running economy. Unlike a table lookup, times here are computed directly from the underlying equations, then solved back out for every other distance at the same VDOT. Because VDOT is continuous but the model's real-world precision isn't, each prediction is shown as a range rather than a single number. Treat these as reasonable training/racing targets, not guarantees — the model doesn't know your event-specific strengths, weaknesses, or conditions on the day.
